Evidence is context-specific

Order records, emails, DMs, screenshots, delivery or service records, refund information, device or account history, and payment-provider records may all be relevant in different situations. A merchant should not assume that one document proves every disputed issue or satisfies every network rule.

Communications can provide valuable context, but they may show negotiation, an earlier version of an order, or details spread across several messages. A separate final confirmation makes it clearer which order details the buyer reviewed before payment.

Authorization and order confirmation are not identical

A record that a buyer confirmed an order can document what was agreed before payment. It is not, by itself, a card-network authorization, identity guarantee, liability shift, or proof that a particular cardholder performed every later payment step.

Use the current dispute instructions

Merchants should review the reason code, deadlines, and evidence requirements supplied by their processor or acquirer. Network and legal rules can change. Onfinga does not provide legal services, file disputes, or guarantee a win.
